February 1, 2012: Secretary of State George Shultz took a look back at his years of service in the Nixon administration, remembering how he and the President led the charge to peacefully desegregate schools in America’s South.

As part of a series of Nixon Legacy Forums co-presented by the National Archives and the Nixon Foundation, Shultz was joined at Stanford University’s Hoover Institution by two other fellow Nixon alums, former Treasury Secretary Paul O’Neill, then Associate Director of the Office of Management and Budget, and J. Stanley Pottinger, who led the Office of Civil Rights at the Department of Health Education and Welfare in the early 1970s.
